Basement Windows

Windows can make your basement more visually pleasing and boost safety. Large basement windows, sometimes referred to as "egress windows," from Pella of Vancouver are created to allow more light into underground spaces than the older, smaller, rectangular windows that sit above ground. They also offer a way to get out in case of an emergency.

The biggest differentiator between basement, or egress, windows and standard windows is that basement windows have to be large enough for an average-sized person to get out in order to meet safety requirements set forth in building codes. You can select from correctly sized casement, sliding or double-hung windows when you install basement windows. Make sure you fully understand local building codes prior to purchasing basement windows.
